Thank you for your interest in volunteering for SMC Foundation! Hundreds of individuals, 18 years of age and over, offer their services each year to an array of unique, fun and exciting fundraising events that benefit Somerset Medical Center. These events include:
- Far Hills Races – Annual world-class Steeplechase Races benefiting SMC Foundation held on the fourth Saturday in October
- Music at Moorland – An outdoor twilight concert followed by spectacular fireworks held on the last Thursday evening in June
- SMC Foundation Golf Classic – Held each September at Trump National-Bedminster, one of the Top 100 golf courses in the world
- Steeplechase Distance Run – Annual 25K and 5K races benefiting The Steeplechase Cancer Center in October.
- Key to the Cure– a collaborative effort in October with Saks Fifth Avenue to fight women’s cancers and raise funds for SMC’s Steeplechase Cancer Center.
- SMC Foundation Office – assist in the Foundation office with clerical tasks, filing, data entry, mailings and phone work

Volunteer requirements include:
- Completed Profile Form
- In-person interview
- On-the-job training
- Commitment to the time required for each event
- A background check, including a Social Security number confirmation, which is completed during the in-person interview
- Dress appropriate to each individual event (guidelines to be provided)
Please register at least four weeks prior to the event to allow time for registration of first-time volunteers and to enable SMC Foundation to plan its staffing needs in advance.
As a demonstration of our gratitude for your valuable gift of time and talent, volunteers are invited to attend a year-end recognition event.

SMC Foundation events also offer team-building opportunities for corporate groups that encourage employees to give back to the community while building camaraderie and promoting the company name.
