Teen Volunteers
Volunteen opportunities at the medical center are available after school hours, on weekends and during the summer. The program requirements allow adequate time for orientation, training and instilling the value and meaning of volunteerism.

Teen volunteer requirements are:

• Students must be at least 15 and entering the 10th grade.
• Students must live in Somerset County.
• A commitment to a minimum of 50 hours, over three consecutive months of service, regardless of lesser requirements from schools or churches. Follow-up paperwork, letters of completion, reports of hours or references will be sent only after these minimum requirements have been met.
• Attendance at orientation before beginning service.
• Selection of an assignment and scheduling is done at that time. 
• A two-step TB screening, performed at Somerset Medical Center at no charge.
• The purchase of our Volunteen golf shirt for $10. The dress code also requires khaki slacks or skirts.
