The Critical Care Pavilion
Somerset Medical Center's state of the art Critical Care Pavilion provides the highest level of specialized care and sophisticated technologies required by our most acute patients.
Telemetry/Cardiac Pavilion East & West The Telemetry Unit is Somerset Medical Center's cardiac monitoring unit. Telemetry is a sophisticated monitoring system that enables our staff to continuously monitor patients' heart rhythm, even as they move around the unit. Patients wear a portable transmitter that links to a bank of screens at a monitoring station. Located on 2 West, the unit can be reached at 908-685-2852.
Chest Pain Center Somerset Medical Center's Chest Pain Center helps coordinate the diagnosis and treatment of patients who are experiencing symptoms of a heart attack. The medical center's Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Emergency Department and Cardiology Services work together to quickly identify patients who may be suffering a heart attack and assess the severity of their condition. Patients who are having a heart attack are taken to the medical center's Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory for an emergency angioplasty, a procedure to open up clogged coronary arteries. Patients who are experiencing chest pain but are not having a heart attack will be admitted to the Chest Pain Center located on the medical center's Cardiac Pavilion, where they will be under medical observation for 24 hours.
