Located on the
campus of Somerset Medical Center, The Steeplechase Cancer Center provides comprehensive cancer services of the highest
quality within a calm, compassionate, patient-focused environment.
Our three-story, 63,000-square-foot outpatient facility includes the latest technologies to treat cancer and
help patients regain control of their health.
The center's services
include state-of-the-art radiation
oncology services and the sanofi-aventis
Breast Care Program. Other highlights include a resource center for patients
and their families and complementary
medicine programs. While the
center’s amenities will continue to grow, the goal is to create a supportive
facility for patients and their families.
Each patient’s
treatment is guided by a multidisciplinary team of medical
oncologists, surgical oncologists, radiation oncologists, radiologists,
pathologists, medical physicists, radiation therapists, breast care
specialists, certified oncology nurses, social workers, case managers,
nutritionists, pharmacists and pastoral care staff. These teams continually
review and update our treatment protocols for the three most common types of
cancer - breast, colorectal and prostate
cancers, ensuring we provide the most
advanced care to improve the quality of life of our
patients.
The center exceeds
state and national accreditation
standards. It is accredited by the Commission on Cancer of the
American College of Surgeons and is a clinical research affiliate of
The Cancer Institute of New Jersey.
The facility is named
in honor of the Far Hills Race
Meeting
, one of the nation’s most prestigious steeplechase
races. Since the 1950s, the race meeting has raised more than $17 million
for Somerset Medical Center.
